Surrogate Assisted Sex Therapy
The clinic offers the option of Surrogate Assisted Sex Therapy.
The use of a surrogate in therapy is designed for men and women without partners, or for those who need a partner with whom to practice learned techniques in order to fully utilize the benefits of their therapy. Each course of therapy is individually tailored to the personal needs of the patient and is designed to help with a range of existing sexual dysfunctions:
In men: erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, lack of experience, general anxieties and anxiety of intimacy, difficulties in building relationships, lack of confidence in relations with women, uncertainty as to sexual preference, sexual and emotional rehabilitation after separation, men with disabilities without a partner who wish to undergo a process of sexual rehabilitation, homosexual males interested in examining the possibility of a relationship with a woman.
In women: vaginismus, vestibulitis, anorgasmia, lack of experience, general anxieties and anxiety of intimacy, difficulties in building relationships, lack of confidence in relations with men, difficulties in reaching orgasm, uncertainty as to sexual preference, sexual and emotional rehabilitation after separation, women with disabilities without a partner who wish to undergo a process of sexual rehabilitation, lesbian females who are interested in examining the possibility of a relationship with a man.
In addition, surrogate therapy has been found to be effective in cases of rehabilitation after sexual trauma.
Every individual meets with a sexual therapist from our staff, who accompanies them for the extent of the therapy. In most cases meetings take place once a week but it is possible to undergo a more intensive course of therapy with meetings taking place more frequently.
Similarly the surrogate accompanies the patient step by step through all stages of therapy, from the introduction until the advanced stages of the exercises and full sexual relations, all this taking place within a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Length of treatment varies for each person. Therapy generally continues over a 3 – 6 month period and involves between 12 – 20 meetings. Integrating a surrogate into therapy is possible in most cases and can accelerate the therapeutic process.
